Only Paul Harvey Aurandt could write stories this way.

For many years, I stayed a fan of The Rest of the Story, and Paul Harvey News and Comment. No one in the history of radio ever delivered news and stories in the wonderful and compelling style that Paul Harvey used to entertain his audience. Nobody else could tell a story in this style and no one else could put in all of the special little style bits that made the stories he told so riveting. He is greatly missed these days, since his death, but this book and others he published should be read and enjoyed by fans of his old shows. This one is classic Paul with many stories that warm the heart and tickle the imagination. Things like the truth about Black Bart, John Wayne, William Claude Dunkenfield, a Louisiana piano teacher, the complete loser who never did anything right until he retired, ...

  • Paul!

In college, we hurried home from class everyday at noon for News and Commentary, then at 5:05 pm for The Rest of the Story...we talked like Paul, paused like Paul, made up our own news storied and such...what great memories. For the Rest of the Stories, we competed to see who could shout out the correct identity first...simpler times...no video games or smart phones, just us and the radio... First bought this book in 1981, and I've used it throughout my teaching career, which is now one year from ending with retirement in my future ate the end of the 2017-18 school year. I purchased this copy for a first year Social Studies teacher...hoping it is as enjoyable and useful for her as it has been for me!

  • An Awesome Read

In my "Younger" yrs I listened to Paul Harvey on the radio. Where I live(d) his show didn't play until late evening, which gave my Parents the opportunity to hear him as well (after work hrs). Now I have some of his shows in print, as I'm reading, I can "Mentally" hear his voice and even put in the Pauses he'd use in the show. THANK YOU so much for having and offering this Wonderful piece of History.
