Uplifting and upbuilding
I actually bought and had this book sent as a birthday present, being I liked my own so well. The recipient has not gotten around to reading it yet, but thanked me, and said it looks like just what he needed. I thought so too. I had never heard of Joel Osteen at all, but evidently he's been around for quite some time. When flipping threw the tv channels one night, landed upon one of his sermons. I'm not sure why I paused - as I am a nurotic channel flipper, but I'm glad I did, and have been a fan every since. Ok, so back to the book, it is filled with insight and scriptures, and insight into the scriptures - it's just an all around upper. You'll love it - I promise. Wish I could even leave more than 5 stars.... Ebay has such good deals on previously loved books, which is great. And the seller was even kind enough to write me a happy birthday note.Read full review

Great spiritual book to help improve our lives, highly reccomended
Your Best Life Now - Joel Osteen Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen is mainly about how to make the person feel good about themselves, to improve their thinking, and the way they live. It is to influence those who not only want to change their life but to give insight in how he or she will change their thinking. This book teaches those who read it to live a positive life and not speak negative about their situations or circumstances. It also tells about what they say in life it can, and will happen if they believe it. Many people don’t realize why so many problems are going on in their life, well its because of the word they speak day by day. The words we speak determines our future. It doesn’t matter what we say, well thats my opinion. It does matter because our life can become in ruins if we don’t think about what we saying. Those that are against God, or not into spiritual books then they would not like it. Many people today don’t believe in God because they think it is un-cool or don’t want to be rejected by their peers. The truth is we can overcome those words. We may think that God never answers pray, or don’t think he will prosper us in all that we do. He can and will prosper us if we ask him too. It doesn’t matter who we are or what background we are from, if we believe in him he can change our life for the better and will do more than we can ask. This book gives insight to how we can motivate our thinking and the way we look at ourselves. In this book it tells us how to speak to our problems and they will go. It also tells us what words we should and should no say. “What we think in our heart we will become.” Your Best Life Now was great, overall I think those who would like it are those who are into spiritual books that improve our lives. I would give this book a rating of a five out of five , because of the content and information that it covers. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it, because if we want to live a prosperous and positive life then this book is for them. The book is geared mostly toward adults, but has information that would be helpful for high school and college students.Read full review

YOUR BEST LIFE NOW by JOEL OSTEEN (2004)
I purchased the book on the advice of my dental hygientist who knew I had been having a rough time emotionally since the death of my mother. However, she meant the DAILY DEVOTIONAL by Joel Osteen, but when she wrote the information down for me she put: "YOUR BEST LIFE NOW (Joel Osteen)." But, since I had purchased it, I have been reading it. I didn't think much of it until Chapter 15. I wouldn't consider it a REALLY RELIGIOUS book although he does, of course, make many references to Jesus, prayer, etc. I feel it is mostly on building your self-esteem, getting rid of negative thinking and starting each day with positive comments; all of which are good things. At this point, I'm on Chapter 21 and am more anxious to read it each evening. I also purchased Mr. Osteen's DAILY DEVOTIONALS which is what was originally recommended to me and look forward to starting that book after finishing YOUR BEST LIFE NOW. I don't feel the book is what I need right now; not what I was hoping for, but still worth my time to read it.Read full review

My Dying Wish Is For My Children To Use This Book
I purchased this book because of what I saw in Joel Osteen on TV, his enthusiasm and faith in God the Father, Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ was so right on. If I were to die today my last will and testament would be for everyone in my family and all my loved ones to read and incorporate the principles in this book into there daily lives. I've purchased 5 of Joel's books so far for myself and family and plan to buy one for each member of my family and, I recommend it to friends also. The simple principles in this easy to read book are based on the Holy Bible which I believe to be the Word of God. If God is with us who can be against us? The principles shared within this book work if you work them, I know I've experienced them first hand as has Joel. Iam a recovered alcoholic and a Grateful Member of Alcoholic's Anonymous which is probably the largest self help group around. God grant me serenity....is the beginning of a prayer we use daily in AA. I believe God is truly the only one that can grant use true serenity and hope that you come to realize this too. Iam convinced that the success of Alcoholics Anonymous is based on God and principles used that are very much like the ones explained in Joel's book. God our Father loves us all and wants Your Best Life Now! Reading Joel's book gives down to earth detailed examples of how God works in our lives.
