Okay, for those used to my reviews, you know me. Yes, I use a product "As Intended"...but I also use a product for other things that still fit its limitations, safety, and specifications. This one is no different. I bought a battery charger for use with my automobile. Okay, that is the "As Intended" part. Howbeit, I also bought this charger for use with automobile batteries for use with my WWII radio set power supplies. You see, many such power supplies (oh, such as, DY-88 or DY-105 or PP-112/GR, and such) require vehicular batteries to empower them. By now, you know where I am going with this. Therefore, I use my DEKO battery charger to maintain my vehicular batteries that I use with my radio set's various field power supplies. This unit (unlike the ones my dad used to use) is real easy to use. YES, still treat each battery with respect and the charging process with caution. Still, this charger makes the charging process a breeze. Read your easy to follow directions THOROUGHLY and follow each simple step and you are in business quickly! They've designed this charger so as to lessen complications. It works great. It is easy to use. The light displays tell you each stage the battery is in, in its charging process. Real nice, if you ask me. So, therefore, YES, I do recommend this product. Not only for use with automobile owners but, in addition, I recommend it to radio operators with WWII equipment.Read full review

this unit worked well on small 4.5 or 7 amp-hour batteries: kept them at 13.2 volts storage. my unit did not work well on large car batteries after 30 hours voltage was 15.2 volts ..too high. However the leads were excellent, I cut them off and used them on other chargers: the leads were worth the price of the charger.

Works great ! I was comparing to similar items available locally, but most only have .75 Amp output vs the 1.25 Amp of this unit. Why spend the same amount of money for a smaller capacity unit ? I have installed an extension wire on the vehicle, so that I don't need to pop the hood when I connect or disconnect the unit. The indicators on the unit show when the unit is connected to a battery and is in charge or standby modes. I really should have bought one years ago, as a charged up battery won't freeze in the winter, but a discharged battery will.

This charger/ maintainer works well and h as a rugged metal case. My first pair were stolen so I immediately got two more! These work well for charging and maintaining lead acid batteries that are infrequently used; ie lawn mowers in winter or classic cars that are not daily drivers.
