An interesting book for Young Adults. Written from POV of 9th grader who lives on an American Indian reservation. In 9th grade he chooses to attend school away from the reservation and his family supports him. He recounts his experience at the new "white" school and the feeling of being an outsider who is eventually accepted. Written with simple language and sentence structure that even a very basic reader can understand. But written at the emotional viewpoint of a young teenager. I recommend it to any young person who normally does not like to read and I also recommend it to students who do like to read. The students who do not normally like to read will find it compelling and accessible. The students who do like to read will enjoy the POV of someone who likely lives in a different world from theirs but who encounters many of their same problems. A positive and enjoyable read. As an adult and a fast reader, I read the entire book in approximately 3 hours...non-stop which tells you I was interested.Read full review
