I purchased the Simmons 8-Point based solely on cost. My eyes have aged to the point that I needed the cross hairs more than the magnification. The Simmons 8-Point appeared to be the most reasonable solution for a novice with scopes. I was not disappointed. Installation and zeroing were simple and straight forward. I've used it out to 200 yards and have experienced none of the drawbacks that I was warned of for a bargain level scope. It has stayed zeroed in after ~200 shots. I purchased a second one for my other rifle with the savings.
This is a very nice scope for the price. It has clear, fog free view and is very precise. The adjustments on it were very easy to get targeted in. I do wish it had a closer point of view , however I guess thats the 3/9x40 ...Overall as I said it is a very nice scope for the money. Im using this on a Ruger 10/22 and it does work well.
I have used/purchased Simmon's scopes for several years now. No, they are not a Sworovski (sp) but then again they aren't in the $1,000 dollar range. They work, they are tough and of all the Simmon's products I have, never had a problem. This one went on a Ruger 22 magnum which is more scope than the rifle really needs, but then again, I don't worry about it lasting a lifetime. This scope meets what I expect from Simmon's based on several years of using their products. As far as I am concerned, for the money you can't beat it. Consider what you are going to put it on, and if the equipment is a match, I recommend it.
The scope looks awesome. Appears well made and finished. Should give many years of service. And the price was great as well.
