I recently did an unofficial test with my Canon printer and Canon inks. I am a photographer who is in the middle of transitioning from prints to digital images. As a result, I can go weeks, sometimes months without making a print. I've been busy recently with a new job, so the photography had to be moved to the back burner. I don't know exactly how long my printer sat idle, and full of ink--2-4 months? 3-5 months? But I went back after a long time to make some photo prints, and the printer and the ink delivered good results. Canon inks may be expensive, but they have special ingredients that "compatible" inks do not have that prevent those tiny channels from clogging up. I can vouch for the quality of Canon inks. Unfortunately, I can also vouch for the cost. Bottom line--you get what you pay for. P.S.--I do NOT recommend letting your photo printer sit idle for months at a time.Read full review

Very consistent ink, in pro printers only use canon ink, the rest are garbage.
