Starring - Zhao Wen Zhou, Ada Choi, Ray Lui Great show with excellent storyline and actors. Unlike the movie (Seven Swords) which I thought was terrible, this one goes in-depth about the characters and their background. There are multiple stories that run throughout the show with each brother getting his share of personal trials and hardships that goes as he progresses forward. However there is some unbalance here though, first the second bother gets a lot of spotlight on his story and there are times when it seemed as if he was the main character, third brother gets a brief mention in the beginning but then just fades altogether from the picture until the end, but even then his role is small, and finally Zhao Wen Zhou's character, who is the main hero of the story, but because his story is cut out so many times with stories of the other brothers and the red spear society you can't get fully into his story, but that may change if they release a sequel to this series. With these issues aside though this is STILL worth buying and will be an excellent addition to anyones collection. -I recommend watching it in Cantonese as it sounds better. -Subtitles are good for the most part, but there are instances where there is speech and no subtitles appear on screen, but it doesn't happen too much though, which is good.Read full review
I would NOT have purchased this if I knew it had subtitles! I'd like to know what the seven swords represent, but not enough to suffer through subtitles.

I watch the 2 1/2 Seven Swordsmen Movie DVd(the no TV serries). The TV seserries is about 40 hrs long and the story is far more complex then the movie. It is well made to me and it is one of my wu xiang DVD collection. However, the DVD package is sloppy, DVD keep pop up and falls over place. Fatmonk
