I used this for piping around seat cushions. This is the first time I ever tried this procedure. So I can't really say if my concern is really valid. I didn't think the supply that I got was consistent. Some of the cord was coming out of the string holding it. and some was thinner than others. I never purchased this product before so I don't know if all cording is like that. I finished 4 chairs using it in the piping and they looked ok (for my first attempt at covering chairs with piping). That is why I gave it a 4.
