"Alone Toghether" is an easy read. The author makes general observations and backs them up from her personal experience. Part of me applauds this woman for her intelligience and compassion and for staying in such a difficult relationship. Part of me thinks she is living in denial to survive in an abusive relationship. I think I have an autistic husband (40+ years) and I go round and round on that question. Is he unable to show the kindness and compassion I want from my husband or unwilling? The answer to that question makes all the difference in living with an autistic partner.

Not one of my favorite books, I understand Katrin wanting to be (and then stay) with the person she loves, but it was missing a lot of things which would be helpful to know, i.e. what finally made her husband get diagnosed, did she drag him there or did he go himself, etc. I really felt badly for her in this book.
