Has nice tone with a resonant full bodied sound with pretty good sustain, A great sound overall. It plays very well with the action being very low it is very fast and only a light touch is needed to produce nice clean notes. One or two frets are a little sharp on the edge and just need smoothing. Tuning between open string and 12 fret was close but not perfect. Was easily fixed with a tune up. Has even volume over the pickup 3way switch positions. The finish is fairly good with two small blemishes in the finish. Overall it looks very good. It is holding tune though one tuner doesn't seem to adjust much . Have to turn it quite a lot to get a change of note. The pickups are absolutely noisless producing no hum whatsoever. The overall sound quallity of the instrument is very very good. As good as my Les Paul standard Is the guitar good value for money Yes very much so. This is a very good very playable guitar. I am really impressed. Was so impressed with this one I just purchased an acoustic from starshine.Read full review

I haven't had it for long so my evaluation is a little limited. Fit & finish are fine. Great buy for $300. ES-335 copies are a crowded field but this is a good competitor. I would say the sound is very similar to the Epiphone. The Gibson is darker, with a punchier midrange. The company shipped fairly fast (with a little prodding). They seem like very friendly, nice people but might do well to hire a native English speaker to do their communicating. I had requested that they substitute a .012 guage string set since I play mainly jazz (most of these companies ship .009) and make any necessary changes to the truss rod, for the extra tension. Instead, they sent 2 extra sets of .009s.

A very nice budget guitar, far nicer than the price suggests. Great sound and playability. Cosmetics are very good as are the pots and pups. I may someday put real Grovers and a real tune-o-matic bridge, but until then I play this guitar 2 or 3 times a day without issue. The only suggestion I would make is to put "Starfire" on the headstock, not "Gibson". Many seasoned players are no longer impressed by brand recognition, and in particular, Gibson. E.g., if I wanted to spend 2 or 3 grand on a guitar it would be for a Carvin or Ibanez, pretty much anything other than Gibson: an overpriced and deflated guitar company.

The craftsmanship is very good. It turns out the purchase of this guitar exceeded my expectations. The set up was very good as it came which is unusual. All around a beautiful guitar as shown. It plays very well. I would give this guitar a high rating even compared to other well known brands. Thank You to Starshine. I would purchase again.
