This is a cute and sweet book for halloween!! Probably best for the younger child who may not be ready for the spooky aspect of halloween; this is not exciting or scary, but instead a nice story centered around Halloween Concepts. Corduroy is a friendly little bear - originally created by Don Freeman, recent years have seen a slew of books that are based on the original character; but have the same formula in new settings such as this halloween book. The premise of this story being one of Corduroys friends is without a halloween costume so he donates his own outfit and searches for ways in which to make another. He develops a costume out of a tablecloth and finds himself rewarded for his sharing and his imagination. The kind, sharing concepts make for delightful reading to your child; and the attractive illustrations, rich in fall colors are sure to delight. This book is a reflection of simpler times, it is written with the baby - preschool demographic in mind, and probably would not stretch further than this, at which point children are looking for spooky concepts and bright, bols artwork to draw them in. However, it is a sweet attractive book to share with a younger child this halloween!Read full review
