Needed a large capacity spreader. Purchased the Agri-Fab 85 lb. Broadcast spreader. Price in my opinion is great. The quality (once it is assembled) is great. The major problem with it was putting it together. I admit I am one to only slim over the directions. Assembly should be sort of an easy process, but I ran into a few problems. The frame work did not appear to be correct so I pretty much forced it to fit, and it did. The wheels would not fit onto to the axles so I had to do some revision of the axle. Once the wheels were on getting the axle caps that lock the wheels onto the axle seemed imposable to get on but finally with a block of wood an vise grip and a hammer now have been secured. After all of that I think it is a great spreader maybe a little more quality control on the fit of things would help it to be a bit less challenging Read full review

It's plastic. Got it cheap cable to hopper was messed up so I had to modify it to work. There is no way to reliably adjust the rate basically no instructions. Everything is so stiff you have to push down hard to get the wheels to turn in order to spread any granuals. They weight of a full hopper wasn't enough. If you are looking for a spreader that you are going to use on a regular basis or have a big lawn do not get this one. Spend the $300 and get a lesco . Or another commercial brand this will not hold up on a regular use basis.

The instruction on putting it together could be a lot more helpful. The quality of the product is good except the throttle of setting the setting for the different products you want to spread on your lawn. The opening on the machine didn't open when i first started spreading and had to dump the product to see what the problem was. It turned out that the sliding meckinism wasn't tight and was off center. Once adjusted it seem to work o.k. I have seen better quality products in the same price range, was disappointed.

I had one of these about 5 yrs ago. After multiple uses with salt (and lots of wd-40) to keep it alive, it finally rusted out. I saw this spreader and had to get something before a recent storm here in NJ. It arrived and I put it together. The only thing I hated about this unit was the handle. They only give you ONE bolt to hold the assembly together. There should be two along with more of an overlap where the two pieces of the handle assembly connect. Within 10 ft of pushing the thing collapsed and I had to resort to splinting it with rebar and duct tape. They also go cheap and give you plastic wing nuts. PLASTIC! I broke two out of the three when I was assembling the handle. I had to go to Home depot and get 3 metal ones. I wasn't about to break a third in the field! Other than that it lasted. They just need to improve those issues.Read full review

Box showed up at the house ripped and open. Not enough tape to properly ship. The wheels are different than advertised in the picture. The holes in the plastic tub hopper don’t line up correctly with steel tubing which takes forever to make fit. The handle is bent and steers crooked. The wheels are held on with steel press on clips much like a toy. I put fertilizer on the lawn once and the cheap plastic/steel clips came off and the wheel fell off. I cut my losses and put it out at the street for trash pick up. Cheap China made junk.
