The weatherproofing on this antenna is superb and the gain is almost exactly what is stated. Please be advised that this is a large antenna requiring ample vertical clearance. Also, at minimum, a three-foot stand-off is recommended to minimize coupling effects with the associated base mount or tower. My only critique is that the resonant frequency on 2M is a bit high at 147.550, as it can't be easily adjusted downward. However, overall vswr across the band is never higher than 1.45:1. On 440, this antenna has amazing gain and very low vswr. Overall, this is the real deal - great value at a great price. One really cannot get a better collinear dualbander onmidirectional vertical than this design.

It seems to be well built with quality materials. It was easy to assemble even though the instructions were a little vague but I figured it out easy enough. I haven’t bought a dual band radio yet to transmit on it yet. It does seem to have a very good gain while I am using it for my scanner. As you may notice in the photos. It is too low on the tower and too close to the roof but this is only temporary and therefore is not at its full potential.

I do not recommend this antenna, first time on the air after a heavy rain the SWR went to the roof. Took it down and check all joints and sealed them again, back up again and after 3 months same problem this time without any rain the SWR went up to plus 3. I have the UVS200 and for over 10 years had no problem. Goodbye UVS300 straight to the garbage.
