So our border collie Samantha hates the doorbell. We tried the so called pet safe shock collar and a week later noticed it burned her. So a big NO to those. The first day that we used the anti-bark collar it worked. Like really worked. To the point that we thought that we turn it of so that we can hear her. So now when we are home it is on. When we leave, it's off. Definitely would recommend this as a training collar for barking.

I bought this after the Pet Safe Ultrasonic bark control device didn't work. IF this thing didn't go off all the time, it MAY work since the dogs don't like the smell. But the stupid device spritzes every time they shake their head or move wrong, leaving them neurotic and hiding under the furniture. I am ready to hide too, the smell is giving me a headache after it sprayed several times before I could get it off.

I have nothing bad to say about the product - well built and operates as described. However, our Cairn Terrier now seems to enjoy the smell of citronella. The first two days he reacted as we had expected him to. He stopped barking when the spray was emitted, backed up and shook his head. Now, two weeks later, he barks and smells the spray. We had hopes - but I don't think it will be a deterrent to him. We are now trying the "reward with a treat for not barking" method. I would still recommend this item as it seems to be effective on other dogs - based on the reviews.

I've got a Great Pyrenees mix that has a tendency to bark at EVERYTHING THAT MOVES within about 100 yards of my house. Neighbors, cars, other dogs, squirrels, cats, kids, etc... you get the picture. I'm her "new owner" for the past couple of months now, and I know she had a bad experience with somebody and a shock collar so I didn't want to subject her to that (although her digging may reverse that decision). Anyway... the instructions say that it can take upwards of 2 weeks or even longer for a dog to make the association between barking and the spray from this device so I was skeptical. To my amazement she understood that if she barked she'd have to deal with the spray after about 30 seconds. Truly amazing product that I would recommend without hesitation to anyone with a dog with a barking problem.Read full review

Without having to shock our little four pound yapper, we were able to correct her barking. This collar works great on our super small dog. She figured it out very quickly and the behavior correction lasts. She barks much less all around now even though we rarely put the collar on her.
