UK collection from the beloved American singer/songwriter whose music finally reached a large audience four years after her death. In the 17 years since her passing, Eva's musical gift to the world is contained in her nine album catalog. The Best of Eva Cassidy contains 19 tracks taken from those nine albums plus a belated surprise in the form of a previously unreleased version of "You Take My Breath Away," recorded shortly before Eva left US in 1996 but never heard until now. A 'demo' version of "You Take My Breath Away" concluded Eva's UK #1 album American Tune but this alternative interpretation takes the song to new emotional heights. Having dusted off and re-mastered Eva's original guitar/vocal studio recording, her former band mates Chris Biondo and Lenny Williams then augmented the production with new bass guitar, piano and string arrangements to create the definitive version of what's certain to become one of Eva's best-loved performances.

    The Best Of Eva Cassidy CD.

    This is truly exactly titled. It is the best of Eva Cassidy. Eva Cassidy is one of my very favorite female singers. She has unrealistic vocal range and sings with passion. She was cheated by an early death from cancer. She performed at her tribute concert just two weeks before her death. Leaving her walker and assisted to a chair she gave an outstanding performance as always. She was extremely versitile in the songs that she sang and was good at all of them. Like all great artists, she was not recognized until after her untimely death. I wish I coiuld have seen her perform. At least we have a few recordings of this great talent. I am thankful to the British for putting her songs together in CD's.

    Phenomenal.

    This cd is phenomenal. Eva Cassidy's voice is simply amazing. I would place her with Norah Jones, Angelina Jordan, and others. So sad she passed away at such a young age. I came across her by accident the internet.

    Nice Collection of Eva's Music

    This is a nice collection of Eva's music and certainly worth adding to any music collection! With that said, keep in mind these are old recordings and regardless of re-mastering... they will never sound as good as something recorded with today's technology. With that stated, I still recommend the album.
