quality is as good as the original product, since it is the same as the original. I saw where some mentioned the speed nuts holding the wheels on were difficult to remove. I used a flat chisel and hammer at the tabs in the nut. I'd show a picture but don't know how. (better mechanic then computer wiz). basically what you're trying to do is drive the nut toward the axle to bend the tab out. I then used a small screwdriver to drive the tab back in, to put back on. Worked better then I expected. Another tip, be sure to drain sprinkler and store inside for winter. Doesn't get cold here that often, but I've ruined two of these sprinkler transmissions by freezing. I thought they were drained, but it is hard to get all the water out. I now store them in the mud closet inside the house during the winter. (If I don't forget, Thus two frozen) . Also the stop block seems to be very tasty to dogs, so don't leave them in the yard.Read full review

Fairly easy to install except the end caps on the axle; they're usually rusted on and they're extremely difficult to remove without a cut-off wheel or similar power cutting tool. A pair of pliers will not be sufficient. Once installed, you basically have a new sprinkler, however. Seems to work fine. My only real feedback would be that this costs almost 1/2 of what a new sprinkler would run. Should be less for what it is. If the thing came with metal gears instead of plastic, it'd last a lot longer.

They run for about three years . Which is good for me . If you buy them on Amazon get the $3.00 warranty . I have four of them for two acres of grass . My only question is , how do you remove the wheel axle lock nuts . I've tried a small pry bar , a vise grips etc. The only way I get them off is with a Drehmel diamond cutting blade . Slow , tedious and hard on my patience .

It replaced the original motor assembly on a twenty year old Nelson Rain Train without any problems, although I had to use the original screws.

For a $70.00 dollar product that no longer works, $40.00 and 15 minutes of your time, if you have a set of wheels, it is a good buy. It was so easy I have purchased two more for the others that don't work anymore.
