heard mixed reviews, decided to try it anyway, bought Federal 9mm ammo, there was many failure to feed issues and slide wouldnt lock, next day bought better anno and it worked flawlessly. the extension grip makes shooting at the range more fun.If you need the extra length for your pink or want the extra ammo to carry. I would recommend this mag.

Both mags had issues in performance. 1 would not hold the slide open after the last round, and the other had multiple failures to load properly into the chamber - jamming - stove pipe. Mag Tech has offered to replace them under warranty, but two failing out of two is not a good record. Note: Stock Taurus mag works without flaw for my semi.

First, I have ProMag Magazines for TCP's, LCP's, S&W BG's, Bersa 380's, and S&W 9mm and .40 cal. Shields, and have been satisfied with them all. So far, the Taurus 709 SLIM 8 round ProMag magazine has pretty much been a dud. I loaded the magazine and let it sit for about a week to break in the magazine spring. I then tested it in two SLIM's. The first one jammed on every one of the first five bullets so I gave up on that one. I then tested it with the second SLIM and it jammed on the first bullet. I fiddled with it for a while and it got to doing a little better (was able to shoot four or five bullets without a jam). I tested with four different manufacturers ammo. Both SLIM's cycled flawlessly with this ammo in the Taurus factory magazines. The tip of the bullet would wedge against the bottom of the feed ramp. Sometimes I could jiggle the slide and get the bullet to chamber. I checked the latching hole in the magazine and the follower angle against the factory mags and they seemed to be the same. The magazine may get better with time. It is okay for single-shot shooting at the range, but I would never use it for self defense. Based on my past favorable experience with ProMag, it looks like this time I got a dud.Read full review

I bought two of these and an additional Taurus 7 round magazine. When I went to the range, I alternated between the Taurus and Pro Mags. This worked well, at first but then, one of the 8 round mags jammed altogether and I wasn't able to load but one round in it, so I set it aside and continued with the single Pro Mag and the two Taurus. Eventually, the other ProMag wouldn't allow the pistol to chamber a round properly. At times I had to clear the chamber of the first three rounds of the mag before it would allow the fourth to be chambered, giving me only 5 rounds out of eight, to fire. Needless to say, I'll stick to the factory mags for my Slim 9

After taper-filing sharp edges, it inserts, and ejects just fine, and locks open on last shot every time...takes a little tuning-up to get working smoothly, but had to do that with original mag as well...Would definitely buy another...
