John Denver has given so much music for us to enjoy. It lightens the heart and makes us happy. A small price for what so many seek. Put in your car and let your drive home form work be a more pleasant one. I keep it close for when I need to perk up a bit. It would be nice to remember him and say thank you as you listen.

While I love John Denver and most of his music, this album is not what I was expecting. I know most of these songs from another "best of" album I had years ago... these are not the same songs. These are the recordings of the hits we all know, just not polished and mastered as the ones on the radio are. Very reminiscent of a live recording from a concert that is ok, just not as good as the original. And the other half of the album are songs that are third rate, mediocre, and boring. I will end up throwing this away and buying the REAL best of album.

This is not a must have for John Denver fans, but it's a good introduction to his music for those not familiar with his work. I wish "High Calypso" was on the track list, as it is my favorite of his songs. Still, if you don't have any of his cds in your library, I recommend this one as a start.

I have always liked John Denver, could never spell his real last name. lol His music has and will always be great. I can remember when his music hit the charts, Showing my age but who cares. I like his music. If you get a chance buy his albums, vinyl or CD. You will be impressed.

This collection of hits was recorded later in his career and, when compared to earlier studio recordings, don't seem to have quite the freshness of sound and purity of voice. More emphatic but less joy of hitting the higher registers just for the fun of it.
