I have an old house that we dug the basement out 12'' deeper so we put a sump well and footer drain system in before pouring the floor, I didn't need it really because its been raining it a## of for the last six months and no water in basin so any way I wanted a solid lid for when I put some carpet down, I didn't use the rubber seal that came with it because it made the lid stick up a 1/4'' so I used silicon instead but when I walk on the lid it will sink down quite a bit @ 175 lb, I had put a 3'' PVC pipe in the middle from the basin bottom up to the lid to help hold the weight, I was hoping it would have been a lot stiffer.

Adequate non-metal sump pit cover to replace a rusted out steel cover. The gasket pictured in the ad appears to be a rubber gasket, but it is not what was included. Instead, a very thin roll of stick on foam weatherstripping was included. I used plumber's putty to seal the cover instead.

I like the variety of opening options. It allows for "customizing" individual pump systems. I would like for pipe seal gaskets to be made available though.
