The RSX-3 and RCX-3 (center) speakers were designed for a small home theater, then were also paired with Klipsch's $400 iFi system. PERFORMANCE: Their 40 watt RMS rating, combined with ported efficiency approaching 90 dB means plenty of clear volume for small rooms. Now that these speakers sell used for about $25-$30 each (often including shipping, when purchased in sets), they are a great alternative to computer satellite speakers, too. Alienware used these with Klipsch's ProMedia Ultra 5.1 subwoofer to create the ALX 5.1 "ultimate" computer gaming sound system several years ago. MOUNTING: Their small footprint means they fit on most desktops (unlike the big brother RSX-5). Their ball-mount stand can swivel so that the base becomes a wall mount with three key-hole slots. WHEN BUYING: If you buy online, be sure the seller properly individually wraps these heavy speakers. I've received a few sets of these with broken speaker terminals. OPTIONS: The black enclosures with gold cerametallic cones may look the sharpest. There were some rare white speakers in the RSX series, though, too. Silver was the standard color with the iFi.Read full review
