Joker movie is incredible. Joaquin Phoenix is a genius actor who plays his part so well that he'll bring you to tears until you realize that it's just a movie and he's acting. Amazing through and through. A must see for all adults. Will keep your attention to the end! A 5-star movie in every way!

It is very depressing, Joaquin Phoenix is so weird in this movie , it makes you wonder about him in general, I would say that he is a social path as well as being over the top in this drama, I believe he could not have played this part if he isn't disturbed in his own life. If this picture wins the Oscar and he wins an Oscar for his role then there is something wrong with the people who vote. It's not just depressing it is so depressing that I had nightmares over watching it. I will never watch it again and probably never watch Joaquin in anything or doing an interview as I would always picture him as this totally deranged person who commits' murder and takes everything out of his refrigerator so he can get in it. I suppose this was the idea to get people talking but I myself suffer from depression and this movie did nothing to help, just showed a person with terrible mental problems gaining notoriety as a mental clown who likes to make himself look as mental as he can and getting praised for an Oscar over such tragedy. The 2019 film, "Joker", was an outstanding and phenomenal film. Director Todd Phillips, and the grandiose performance of actor Joaquin Phoenix as the self-proclaimed; "Clown Prince of Crime" definitely brought this film critical acclaim! I was glad that Phoenix nabbed the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor recently, and I predict that he will win the Academy Award, the Critic's Choice Award, and the Screen Actor's Guild Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Arthur Fleck. This tortured and distraught individual who literally had "re-invented" himself into the maniacal, bone-white, green-haired, eternally "grinning" enigma that ultimately would become an imminent threat to Gotham City. One scene in the film that was quite pivotal, was the scene in which Fleck had interacted with a young Bruce Wayne as a child. Evidently, one day, these two would collide years later-as arch enemies: The Joker and the caped crusader himself; Batman. There were elements that were borrowed from both "Taxi Driver", and "The King of Comedy", as Arthur Fleck was trying to make a name for himself as a standup comedian. Robert De Niro's presence in the film as late night talk show host; Murray Franklin; had reinforced this. Every single cadence, body language, gesture, facial expression, and even the sinister, mercurial laughter that eminated out of Fleck were indications that this man would no longer be himself. Fleck was turning into the Joker before our eyes. Over the years; there have been other actors who've brought The Joker to life: Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, and Jared Leto. But in my opinion, nobody else's interpretation of the joker was any better or more menacing than Mr. Phoenix himself! I was glad to have purchased this film on DVD, and I enjoyed this film immensely. Thank you so much for delivering this phenomenal film to me in such a timely manner! Read full review

This is an awesome movie. The performance from Joaquin Phoenix is amazing he did such a great job capturing someone who is let down by society and becomes crazy and becomes one of Gotham’s most notorious supervillain. The transformation from being a poor broke down man to a sociopath is awesome. I was a little skeptical about how he would do compare to Heath Ledger and the others but he took Joker into a whole new direction and it was amazing he blew me away. The only thing I wished they did was to go back a little more into his past when he was a child and you could understand why he became who he is. It does tell you but I think if they showed it would have been more effective. I saw this with my friend and he said the only thing that he did not like was that they made him sympathetic, which is OK but I understand why because Joker is a murderous villain and you should not feel sympathy for him. Other than that he loved it and I agree, not saying what they did was wrong but it was great. I wanted to see him just go nuts. Anyway, I’m glad that they did not put too much of Batman in the movie they do reference it a little. Like the Wayne's are in the film. You can’t really make a Joker movie without him rising and the birth of Batman, you will know what I mean when you see the film. I also liked how they did his family life and I was not expecting to see what I saw, the actress who plays his mom did a great job. And you find out some stuff about her in the movie you would not expect. It also shows him as a regular citizen who works for a living, yes they give him humanity in the movie, but don’t worry towards the end he loses it. I also love the fact that his laughing is a condition that he can’t control and Joaquin got the laugh right. There is so much to say without giving away too much but I think I will leave off by saying that the acting, story, directing and the music are amazing in this movie. Joaquin Phoenix is now the new Joker to me and I hope they make a sequel to show him become the supervillain we all love to hate, this was just his uprising now they can make another one on how he becomes The Clown Prince Of Crime, I would actually name the second movie that. It’s about time that DC’s most beloved villain gets his own movie and they nailed it. Oh, and it is not that violent like everyone says it is. You can’t make a movie about this character without violence. You know it’s funny how the age difference between Batman and Joker varies in each adaptation sometimes they are the same age and sometimes Joker is older than Batman, just saying in this movie Joker is in his twenties late thirties and Bruce is like ten. Oh well, no big deal just saying that’s all. If you have not seen this movie then I recommend you do. This movie is CinematasticRead full review

I bought dvd because of the amazing reviews. The acting is superb!! The storyline is slow, lame and down right silly at times although disturbing. The "Joker" character (which has nothing to do with the Batman franchise.). The Joker has LONG drawn out laughing episodes, in an absurd high pitch. If frequent crying babies in movies is irritating to you, this is worse! I barely made it to the end and is now in the Goodwill bag, there's no way I would ever watch this mess again.
