Created by Ron Koslow (BIRDS OF PREY), the series centers on the love between New York district attorney Catherine Chandler (Linda Hamilton, THE TERMINATOR) and a deformed but chivalric man-beast named Vincent (Perlman, CITY OF LOST CHILDREN), who lives in the city's labyrinthine underground passageways along with an entire community of fellow outcasts. As Catherine's crime-fighting duties frequently place her in mortal danger, Vincent is there to save her from harm and share a star-crossed love that can never be consummated, providing the series with much of its achingly romantic appeal. Fueled by equal parts mystery, romance, and fantasy, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is resurrected in this collection that presents all three seasons of the series.

A romantic and yet tragic series that pulls at the heart.
I loved this show when it was new and I found that I feel the same way again now. The characters have depth, compassion, and way of expressing their feelings that I envy. The story line is easy to follow, and the structure and way everyone cares for each other in the underground world is one to hold as a model for a the world above. I love the love story of Vincent and Catherine. It really touched my heart.

The Most Magical and Romantic Series you will ever see!!
I loved this series when it was on in the 80's. Probably the best written series there was at that time. They don't make series like this one any more. It was so Beautiful, the writing the music the sonnets, so magical!! Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton were fantastic together. I couldn't believe they ended it so soon!! Worth the value and very entertaining!

I just received my brand new DVD SERIES Beauty and the Beast. Haved love the music, poetry and of course the characters. Every once in awhile we all need to escape to world of fantasy. Of a world where differences in appearance can be embraced and overcomed. That Love can find a way to bloom even in the darkness below. Then we must return to our world of fear and sometimes hatred of others and their differences.

I loved this series. The characters are well written. a group of underground dwelling people surround the main characters, their mysterious lion-like friend, and an above ground lawyer who was rescued when she was attacked. The main characters try to appreciate their connection while existing in two separate worlds without exposing each other.
