I did in the product review section

Excellent cast. Excellent direction. Excellent script. Original story that keeps you thinking about the ride you went on for days and days. So much so that you have no choice but to re-watch the movie trying to decipher the entirety of the whole. It's a movie that in my opinion is telling us some underlying mysteries of the world in which we inhabit. Very reminiscent of The Truman Show. Just a different story told in the genre of Sci-Fi. I highly highly recommend this movie. Especially to those who like a movie that gets better every time you see it. ENJOY.

  • HIGHLY Underrated

Dark City is the best film of Alex Proyas. He uses the Gothic and claustrophobic themes commonly and dark colors prevail during the film like "The Crow" .The story doesn't follow a certain order of rule, instead there is some mind games and puzzles in the film, that causes watchers to be active in each minute and motivate to the movie.. The topic is about a man who loses his past and first finds himself in a bath tub, doesn^t know about himself and his life, but he has one ability that no one has, he can be alive when the evil forces stops the time and reshapes the world according to their own demand. The story is so fantastic and Proyas' nightmare world come true in that movie. I can basically say that it's one of the best science fiction movies ever made, it opens doors to ...

  • Incredible Sound and Video

I'll spare the reader a review of the movie. I happen to love the aesthetic, the story and the acting. Your mileage may vary. This cult-ish flick is certainly not for everyone, but there is a lot more to the movie than just some weird sci-fi, buildings that shape-shift and creepy thin guys that can "tune." With this Blu Ray re-issue, the makers have gone back to the source. Providing an impeccable video transfer, this film looks like it was made this year. The blacks are dense, but shadow detail remains apparent. What little color is present is nicely presented. The sound quality is AWESOME! The 7.1 DTS-MA soundtrack is nothing short of great. Don't get too wrapped up in the 7.1 aspect of the track. While cool, the addition of the two rear speakers are discrete channels is ...

  • A well-executed, thinking-man's sci-fi film!

This was a film I stumbled upon by accident one night while 'surfing' through my cable channels, but as it turned out, this was a good accident! My initial viewing had me filled with excitement, curiousness, and anxiety as I followed the main character's journey to discover not only his missing identity, but to also solve the mystery of the city always shrouded in darkness. "Dark City" preceded "The Matrix" by about a year or two, and I feel this movie was more successful at creating suspenseful and action-packed sequences while staying true to the psychological and philosophical fundamentals that the main plot of the film was built on. If you choose to purchase this film, go with the 'director's cut': studio executives felt that ...

  • Dark City is a thinkers Sci Fi

I first watched Dark City in the 90's as a teenager and didnt get it, wasnt drawn in, never watched the full movie. Now in 2019 bought it, rewatched and came away realizing its one of the best sci fi movies ever made for a few reasons. #1 the atmosphere no pun intended. The retro 1940-50s premise fits the narrative perfectly. # 2 The Design... definity stand the test of time. Looks great, feels like you are there. #3 The different ways you can really think about the movie once you've realized whats really going on.... opens up alot of further questions which makes it both rewatchable and satisfying.
