The Car is a great fun movie to watch. The car itself is actually a 1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III modified by George Barris. The same guy that made the T.V. show Bat-mobile out of, you guessed it, a Lincoln Continental. The engine in The Car was 460 cubic inches and the distinctive horn was a Grover 1700-1748 air horn. Listen closely and you will hear the horn blow a - Di Dah Dah Dit - which is Morse code for "X". I've purchased from GRUV before. Always quick delivery and quality products.

Great price, fast shipping, excellent condition. This seller has a huge selection of DVD's available, I hammered them with a pretty big order and still didn't get everything I wanted for my collection. It's hard not to buy a lot when you get 20% off on everything after your first DVD!!

  • Great movie

This is me of the most interesting and entertaining movie that I have ever seen. One of the most scariest and frightening horror movies ever. The DVD was in such good shape. No scratches, the paper was wrapped around neatly and easy to remove. It also plays very well and has a great sound. I highly recommended this movie for everyone.

  • Oh SNAP, we DIDN'T kill it!

There's a lot of "cult" interest in Barris's THE CAR after more than 40 years. Sure, the film (1977) was considered "a dud" back in the day...a view that sealed its fate as a cult classic. So I purchased a copy, new and re-mastered.....O.K like I remembered it (it actually aired on NETWORK T.V just a year or so after its lukewarm run in theaters) And I reckon everyone involved in the whole thing (a victim of bad timing, too, btw: the fascination with telekinesis/demonically endowed machunes was passing peak in '77.....folks were into Close Encounters, Star Wars & "at the disco" oriented movies by the time this thing hit the big screens....) got about what they paid for putting out this hoot. Still, THE CAR still holds sway in the popular sub-conscience. And the Horn.....ohhhhh, that ...

  • Cool Classic Movie

Saw the movie many, many years ago. Lately been discussions about the car used in the movie. I had actually forgotten many parts of the movie itself. Excellent walk down memory lane watching it again. Thank You

  • Driving and Crying

I first saw this film over thirty years ago, I really enjoyed it then, liked it even more upon a second viewing. It looks like an expensive made for tv movie. (That's not a bad thing.) Very little blood or gore, a little bit of trash talking to The Car, and no nudity. They try to give each character a little background story, which helps when that person is turned into roadkill. But, they're mostly stereotypical small town stories. As the title implies The Car is the real star of the film. It steals every scene it's in! Its has a certain charisma about it. It always looks menacing, even when it's not even trying. And the few lines it has, It delivers with authority and conviction. Along the way we see The Car shows a wide range of emotions, playfulness, humor, anger, and, without ...
