I'm a guitar player who likes to lay down some bass tracks. I already have a really nice 4-string Carvin bass that I've loved using for years. I was looking for a bass for that low tuning so I don't have to drop-tune the 4-string bass. This bass is surprisingly well made and plays nice enough. The only weakness is the electronics are a bit weak IMO. Comparing this recording to the Carvin bass and also an iBanez Mikro bass, this bass is quite a bit lower in level. In my DAW I raise it about 10db. It's also lacking a bit of weight in the low end. These are easily enough compensated for with EQ and boost, but it doesn't swap out for the other basses I have without these adjustments. The tone & volume controls are pretty drastic, but without a lot of "sweet spots" for what sounds good to me. I'd give it 5-stars at this price point but the "weak" electronics prevent going that high. For $130 this is a great deal though, and a usable bass with some tweaks. Read full review

This isn't a great first bass exactly, but it's definitely a great first 5-string. It's kind of cheaply made, but sturdy enough for most people just trying out that 5th string. My biggest complaint is that set-up took VASTLY longer than I expected. This is the most finicky bass I've ever tried to get going, and working the buzz out of it has been a nightmare. It definitely can be set up perfectly, but it also definitely requires adjustments.

"Brand New" came to me looking like a B-stock. Dings and dents in the neck, the Black metal finish was partially worn off the knobs as if the finish wasn't applied correctly. They only offered me a measly $15 refund if I kept it. The bass played and sounded excellent out of the box. Needed to adjust the string height and truss rod , but thats all to be exspected. All things considered. It is the best bass for the money. Easy. You just have to guve it some love and invest in a Pro set up if your not capable of doing it on your own

I was quite pleasantly surprised by this instrument. Though this it’s not my main instrument, I’ve played basses of varying levels of quality and at varied price points. This is a solid bass that has good tone and holds tune well. My only issue is that the volume knobs are a little noisy. I’m not sure if that’s a QC issue or an anomaly. Either way, it hasn’t really been an issue and I’m certain it’s an easy fix if I ever feel so inclined.

The Rogue 5 string is surprisingly nice for the price. A great value aimed at the new bassist. Cheap electronics and need to change strings.
