Very fast and very reliable. I have very large files to move (7TB per Trimester). When moving these large audio & video files at high speed my docked internal USB3-3TB drives drop transferring and I have to start all over again. Very aggravating!! The G-Raid does not have this problem and the Drive holds the entire file. Our TV Department is who advised me to use G-Raid. G-Raid 8TB Thunderbolt Rules and did I mention FAST FAST & RELIABLE. In the past 4 years nothing I have tried has compared to G-Raid 8TB (7200 rpm) Thunderbolt. It is also very attractable and professional looking over a docked drive. LOOKS, RELIABILITY, SPEED & AFFORDABILITY. What more could you need. Oh ya, a Mac to operate it (Thunderbolt).
This is a great device for storing all of my large media files. It has allowed me to free up valuable storage space on my SSD allowing me quick access to my smaller more frequently used files while still delivering ample speed when I need to access my larger less frequently used media files. Only draw back is that it takes a little while to get started from cold, but once it is in action, I cannot complain.
If you need a great fast raid drive this one is a really good one.

Right out of the box the drive would not mount on my Mac Pro but with a little perseverance I got it to work... Had to call the Tech dept and they were less than cordial but we did work through the issues. Now the drive seems to unmount arbitrarily which is also a difficult issue since this stores the media I edit with but time will tell if it's worth the trouble
