I like HP printers but sometimes my linux drivers don't quite work with the newer HP printers. I have a HP1300 (not new, but more recent) and it gave issues (mostly to my wife - she runs Linux Mint 17.1) so I looked around and found this older HP. $58 + $38 shipping. SO I pulled the handle and order this. I am using the USB interface at the moment, might use the Network at some point when I have more time to configure. I plugged this in and Mint recognized it and installed what it needed for drivers. Wife did some printing from LIbreOffice and the printer worked far better than when it drove the HP1300. We are both well please. This P3005dn had been "renewed" and came with a checkoff list of what was checked and what was replaced. Cool enough

I got 262k pages out of my first one and loved every page of it. It saw light use except for a couple of months out of the year where we ran it a lot. The old Samsung printer we had used to fail from heat stress at peak usage times. The old P3005 rarely had a paper jam, much less a more serious problem, until the formatter board went out. Up till that point I absolutely loved this machine. What dropped my rating to good was the cost to fix the old machine was more than the cost of the used one I bought on EBay, and the "new" one has much lower "miles." Apparently many of the replacement parts are cost prohibitive and the repair guys don't like them. I am debating on keeping the old machine for parts, just in case. Maybe not since, thanks to EBay, I got a used one cheap.
