Delonghi EC860 is a very well made machine and it makes great espresso fast and easy. The instruction book was too fine print to be useful to me but YouTube has a tutorial that even I understood. The only thing I would highly suggest is to use distilled water only, then you won't need to buy water filters and not have to worry about scale buildup that is what kills most machines and distilled water is very cheap insurance on this machine you will love. I truly hope this helps you purchasing and operating you new espresso maker.

I made a little research on many coffee machines before deciding which one to buy, and this one was the winner. My partner loves to drink cappuccinos (that I used to make for him because he didn't know how to) and this new machine can do it automatically in no more than 30 seconds. it brews really nice, and it's really easy. Match it with a coffee grinder -they are not expensive- and you will have great home-made coffee for an amazing price.

I have had my machine for around a few years. I do like that the buttons can be programmed and the large drip tray is great! Personally I have never used the cup warmer but I almost never think about making my cup of coffee that far ahead of time. The pressurized portafilter is nice for pulling no brainer shots. If you want to play a bit like me I modified my portafilter by cutting down the plastic inside sleeve and using a non-pressurized double shot basket intended for a saeco Via Venezia. The non pressurized lets you really dial in the flavor but it is at the cost of having little to no creama. The Pressurized portafilter will give you rich crema every time. I would also encourage people to get a decent grinder like a Barataza encore or a Capresso but don't go overboard buying a super nice grinder because this machine can only take an espresso grind that is coarse to medium for the espresso setting. The one thing about this machine that has me dinging the review is the lack of a way to steam milk for latte. The panerello is designed to make awesome dry cap and it does this well but if you want to steam milk without foam then your kinda out of luck. I also don't like that the steam wand is very short and it is hard to use with anything other than a large cup. The machine is durable though over the years my shots are getting a little cooler. I also don't like that you need to use Delonghi descaler because of the metals in the boiler. The machine has a descaler reminder that is based on button cycles. I do descale within a week or two of these going on. I basically descale my machine about every 2-3 months depending on my usage. All considered I would recommend this machine to people on the caveat that you need to make sure not to pay retail for this machine. I paid 200 dollars with free shipping and that is about what it is worth. If I were to pay the $799 retail for this machine I would have gotten a Rancillio Sylvia V4!Read full review

Made well. Looks clean. The parts are well made. It has an attachment that foams milk for you. You can press a single button and it will make you a latte or cap. You can control the level of foam you want and the thickness. I wasn’t sure about it at first but it does save time and effort and is really good. It also has an attachment so you can steam the milk yourself. So if you are making cider or just prefer to froth your own milk that is still an option. The espresso itself tastes wonderful. Not like one of the cheaper machines have made me in the past. Easy to clean. Attachments have a self clean to clear the pipes after use so you don’t have to take it all apart every use. It takes about 30 seconds to warm up to use so no standing around all day. Comes with a quick directions guide which is easy to follow. If you have ever owned an espresso machine before it will be no problem. If you never have owned one before the directions walk you through step by step and with a little effort you will be on your way!Read full review

I have put this machine through a rigorous work out and it impressed me at every turn. details were obviously well thought out and executed.espressos, lattes, cappuccinos, even tea/ chai lattes. this machine just kept impressing.Perfect creme every time, and at the right temperature. I owned delonghi , gaggia, nespresso pixi, and most recently Viante amici. Viante failed miserably at what delonghi excelled at. Past experienced with Delonghi has been mostly good. you get far more for your money, and very easy to operate, not to mention exceptional reliability, and excellent customer support.
