The instrument arrived with minor imperfections that were not mentioned in the listing - the power-on pilot light did not work, one connector was faulty (poor contact), one connector was broken (that one was visible in the listing's photo, so it was not shipping damage - but it was not mentioned in the description, either). Otherwise, the instrument was in good shape, worked as advertised, and the price was attractive. Very fast shipping! Prompted me to but another item from this seller.

Good low end receiver at a excellent price but not high end sound.
I bought this receiver refurbished and it was a excellent dollar value but the power and range were a little dissapointing. I wish it had an equalizer to manage the sound as the treble and base controls are mediocre. The FM sensitivity is strong and I am only using a dipole. The unit does run hot. The connections were easy.

Has plenty of power for my 4 floor speakers w/12"woofers and a 15" floor subwoofer. If you are looking for a receiver to hook up and record and play your other tape decks and transfer music this is for you. I now own TWO ONKYO stereo receivers and love and enjoy them both. I also have my TV plugged in to this one and listen to movies with floor pounding sound. Plenty of hook up options. The new A/V receivers only have hook ups for one tape deck. I have two cd recorders and two other tape decks, and turntable and TV hooked up. Great Sound !!!Has plenty of power for my 4 floor speakers w/12"woofers and a 15" floor subwoofer. A very solid performer with "old school" simplicity!!
I love it so far. I like the simplicity of the unit. Great features w/ a kind of old school layout. I use it in my office to power my satellite radio as well as for listening to the FM receiver. Plenty of power, separate bass and treble controls, and a balance control, and plenty of inputs and outputs.
