To start with, the description of this "book" was really the description for the calendar. Buyers should beware. That aside, as an element collector myself, this book is a major disappointment. The full-page pictures of each element are for the most part close ups of small samples with the result that most of each picture is out of focus. The rest of the section on each element contains a short description, which doesn't even include information about who, when, and where the element was discovered, and bunches of worthless pictures of minerals and end products that contain the elements. What is the point of these pictures? The technical data missing are such common properties of melting, boiling point, and valance. For a book with pretty pictures, this book is OK. For a book with information and data about each element, buy another book.Read full review
