"Exciting nonfiction books for kids just beyond the beginner stage can be hard to come by, and the story of the sinking of the Titanic and its subsequent rediscovery will be the ticket for both hard-to-please young 'real stuff' buffs and older reluctant readers. The descriptions of the ship and action are clear, facts are accurate, and the watercolor illustrations convey the high drama of the sinking. A must."--School Library Journal.  , "Exciting nonfiction books for kids just beyond the beginner stage can be hard to come by, and the story of the sinking of the Titanic and its subsequent rediscovery will be the ticket for both hard-to-please young 'real stuff' buffs and older reluctant readers. The book that started my life long interest in Titanic!

This book started my love for Titanic many years ago when I was in second grade. It is a perfect book for children to get into the story of Titanic!

  • Great book on The Titanic

This book contains a lot of useful information on the Titanic and how they found the Titanic in 1985. As you know much of the Titanic now is all rusted out, and next year in 2012 will mark the 100th anniversary of the ships sinking. The book has many color photos of the ship, and the parts of the ships quarters from in 1912 and what it looks like today, which sadly mostly rusted out because of ageing and wear. The Dishes are on the ocean floor and are great artifacts which are on display on the Titanic museum tours. This book is very informative and easy to read, and a book that you will enjoy for a long time.

  • Good Book for Children

This book provides the young reader to learn about the Titanic story without terrifying them with too many detailed facts. However, the story gets the point across in a constructive manner and provided my eight year old with a motivation to read a second book about the discovery of the Titanic. A Note: A more thorough review of other Titanic books for the young reader will yield some improvements in picture quality. This book is a good buy for the price (copyright 1987).

  • The Titanic

My son lost the school copy, but didn't need to replace. He liked the book so much that I decided to replace the school's copy and purchase one for him as well. Is a great book for beginning readers. Great colorful pictures and descriptions. History, kid style!!!
