  • The Quickie

Lauren Stillwell seems to have a good marriage. Sure, her husband Paul has been a little distant lately. But, all marriages have their ups and downs, right? Deciding to surprise Paul with an impromptu lunch date one day, Lauren unexpectedly catches him entering a hotel with another woman. To make matters worse, she's a younger woman. Shaken, hurt, and assuming the worst, Lauren decides to go on a little payback mission. Unfortunately, her night of passion with a coworker ends tragically, and changes Lauren's life forever. Her little quickie sets off a chain of events that turns this once moral and upstanding woman into a manipulating liar and hypocrite. In the end though, Lauren finds out that even though fate can be cruel, sometimes cruel can be kind. And, sometimes fate ...

  • a must buy/read

I chose to buy The Quickie on ebay due to the great value compared to that at our local stores. Even with shipping I saved a ton!! This book had my undivided attention from the start. I ended up reading it in two nights(i could not put it down). James Patterson is a very descriptive author who knowshow to keep your attention. Just when you think you have it all figured out it takes another turn. The ending was perfect and I never saw it comming.

  • The Quickie

James Paterson has always been one of my 2 favorite authors but this one goes way beyond fantastic. This is absolutely the best book I have ever read and the first time since I had my first child 22 years ago that I have ever read a book in one day!! Just when you think you have all the details, he throws something new in. A definite MUST READ!

  • Great read! Entertaining and hard to put down.

Patterson's latest is certainly not high end literature, but as a college English professor, I really like to mix up my reading. I am addicted to reading and usually lean toward more challenging books. Yet, I will often reach for a good mystery to just "space out" if you will. And this certainly has all the ingredients of a fun read. Highly recommend.

  • A Delightful Change of Genre

Usually, I like heavy reading with intricate plots. Most of Patterson's genre is just my style of reading. This book is a little different genre, and it is a delight. It is rare that I find a book I cannot put down. This one is full of twists and turns and yet it is one of those easy to read books that will be enjoyed by first time readers as well as the seasoned reader. A jam up surprise ending. I rate it five star!!!!
