Boots in great condition. Didn't look like they were even worn. Good deal. Package was smashed but that's on the shipper.

Black shoe goo seems more durable than the clear stuff. I don't really know if they have the same formula being used in both of them.

    Shoe Repair

This stuff works pretty good. I have a pair of hiking boots, nothing high end, and the sole worked itself loose. Bad day at the factory I suppose. Big gaps on the heel and thin seams along the edges. Figured it was worth it to try a save and so the shoe goo. It sucks going on cold, it's better if you leave it on in hot sunny place for an hour or so. Comes out fast and creamy. Have so forethought on you patch project, all at once may be a mistake. It took about 3 applications to fill the large heel gaps, back of heel against the leather. Smoothed it out with wooden applicator I found. Dried smooth and glossy. Side seams were sloppy but if I took the time, it would be bueno. I don't mind, they didn't break loose when I put them too work. So yes, it works. Take your time.

  • I was skeptical, BUT...

After watching youtube videos on this stuff, I decided to try it. It worked perfectly on my husband's expensive leather sneakers. It fixed a problem where stitching came out holding plastic strap loops for the Velcro straps. If it wasn't for Shoe Goo, the sneakers would be in the trash and other than that problem, the sneakers were in excellent condition. I highly recommend it.

  • I buy a LOT ofthis shoo goo !

It is a great general purpose elastic glue/filler I use for gluing power strips to table tops, bricks to tabletops for book ends, magnet bars to filing cabinets, and joining odd pieces of camera equipment together. Excellent for shoes TOO! I glued a large powerful laser to the top of my revolver, and as it set up I adjusted it for perfect horizontal alignment ... as it takes several days to get really hard and in a month is like a weld. I buy these six at a time, and it makes me nervous when I run low.

  • Great for patching boots

It's not "better than expected"; it's pretty much exactly what I expected, hence the paying of money, etc. I'm using it to repair a hole in the sole of my motorcycles boots, and it works great. The color matches the black sole perfectly (after about 20 steps to get the right amount of dirt on it :-) )

  • I believe in this stuff. Saved my heavy, expensive hiking boots!

Saved my heavy hiking boots! The soles were coming off the bottom in several places. In one area the sole was missing totally from one side. The gick filled in the holes, replacing the missing rubber, and fastened the looser parts of the sole to the boot. I would wet my thumb and use the wet thumb to smooth out the applied goo. It's necessary to take your time and build the area up with thin layers rather than all at once with a big dollop of the stuff. It took nearly a week, five minutes or so at a time, but it saved me $50 at the shoe repair shop. My boots work as well as new. Highly recommended-- and I have enough in the tube for other projects as well.
