    Slow start, but great characters

    The only reason I did not give this book 5 stars is due to its slow start. Anyone who has read the dustjacket already knows that brainy Emerson Watts and supermodel Nikki Holland die on the same day, and Em's brain is transplanted into Nikki's body. Yet the first half of the book tries to make this seem like a mystery. Emerson wakes up in a hospital, feels weak, is unsettled by the distant reaction of her sister, and keeps asking the doctors what is wrong with her but gets no answers. Because the reader already KNOWS the answers, this part of the story seems tedious and talky, and goes on too long. However, once Em is told the truth --- and that, in order to pay for the operation, she must pretend to be Nikki and continue Nikki's career rather than resume her mundane life with her ...

    Reviewed by Taylor Rector for TeensReadToo.com I can't lie; this had to be the oddest book that I have read by one of my favorite authors! Emerson Watts is a pretty typical nerdy girl at a good school. She has one best friend, who she is secretly in love with (It is a guy, by the way.) But she is only typical until she goes to a store opening with her sister and gets injured in a very freak accident. When she wakes up after about a month of being unconscious, she feels like she is someone else. And she actually is. This is not a paranormal book. She gets a brain transplant. At the end of the book I literally said, "Get me the next book! NOW!" The ending is a total cliffhanger! The characters are smart, witty, and a little weird, as with typical Meg Cabot books. A fun read, even ...

    A good mindless read...

    Meg Cabot is very good a varying her topics while still being able to relate to every teenage girl. Its amazing how even though the story waas still extremely far fetched I could still relate to some of the things Em was going through. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read.

    Great description. Better than expected. The quality was great. The only thing is that there was a price sticker on the front that I did not see mention of.
