Way better than rope.
The HSS bow & grear hoist is about as easy as it gets. I've used it a dozen time so far with my climber. I've attached it to the climber itself, stabilizer straps, backpack, and belt loop. Haven't lost it yet while climbing. If you have ever messed around with any style rope this is way worth the money. Things i dislike. It is noisy when you crank it back in. Not eough to really bother me but it's there. If i carry it in my cargo pocket it bangs together and makes noise when i walk. Easily avoided by carrying it somewhere else but that has always been my go to rope spot. Tension will not pull up on your bow, however. No More Tangles
This product works very well. I was tired of tangled pull lines when hoisting my bow into the tree stand. Now that I use HSS hoist that problem is eliminated. The unit is also very compact which allows it to be easily stored in a pocket or pack.

Poor quality
Cord broke the second time I raised backpack must of been dry rotted. Also the crank handle pin fell out and I had to put a screw thru it to be able to use handle
