This is my first review I have written of any book. I usually pass on the opportunity, but this book is absolutely amazing! I actually already owned this book and have read it completely 3 times and I have used much of it's thought provoking content in teaching family and financial related classes at my church. It will stir you deep-down like no other book I've read. It is written specifically for Christian men. I bought this copy to give as a gift to a friend who is dealing with relationship issues at home...as well as some integrity issues. I heartily recommend it to any man, particularly Christian men. The title is very suitable for the book. It is human nature that we absolutely fail to look at ourselves. We can see the faults in others, but I believe we can change most ... Patrick Morley tells of 3 stages of his life: Stage #1: His life without or before God...and how he was successful accordingly to the world's standards, but still empty inside. Stage #2: His life serving the God he wanted...saved but not completely looking at himself and surrendering his own ways, which again led to emptiness. Stage #3: Serving the God who is...and the finding of purpose, meaning and fulfillment in life. I dare say most Christian men are stuck in stage #2. If you digest this book, it will help you get to stage #3. You must look into the mirror of your life and analyze where your decisions are taking you to be truly fulfilled deep inside as a Christian man. Mr. Morley openly discusses how men today are under a tremendous amount of pressure. He talks of the "rat race" and thought-provokingly asks us to question why we do what we do and where it will take us. As I stated earlier, our human nature is we fail to look at ourselves until years down the road when our marriages and finances are a disaster and then we ask ourselves, "How did I get here? What has happened to my family?" All men need to read this book because life is short. Life must be balanced. We can't get caught up in the "rat race" and lose our families, integrity and our future. I encourage all men to read this book and take a deep look into the mirror NOW. It will save you lots of heartache and the pain of leading an unexamined life. There are questions in the back for personal reflection and/or for men's group study. I have read lots of book and this is by far the best Men's self-development book I have ever read. 5 Stars all the way!!!
