I wish I hadn't waited so long! I had small bookshelf speakers for my rears in my surround-sound system for years, and while they worked fine, replacing them recently (2014) with two Def Tech 8040BP rears has made a definite, audible improvement. Everything just sounds more realistic. And they look good too!
