About this product

Product Information

Rincewind, the protagonist of the first two Discworld books, returns in book five of a long-running humorous fantasy series. In the Discworld, the eighth son of an eighth son is a wizard. When the wizard Ipslore the Red breaks his vow of celibacy and has children himself, his eighth son is a sourceror, capable of frighteningly powerful, reality-changing magic. It's up to cowardly and incompetent wizard Rincewind, aided by expert barbarian thief/aspiring hairdresser Conina, to save the Discworld (again) by confronting the sourceror...who, by the way, is a mere 10 years old.

  • Another Humorous Adventure

Rincewind is back in this third installment in the Wizards storyline of Terry Pratchett's Discworld (see my guide regarding the various storylines). This time, he and luggage team up with Conina, the barbarian thief and daughter of Cohen the Barbarian from Light Fantastic; King Creosote, the up til recently richest man on the Disc; and Nijel, an unproven hero trying to make a name for himself so that he doesn't has to take over his father's grocery business. The world as we don't know it is in jeopardy again, and Rincewind is the unwilling, cowardly, pseudo-wizard who, through devastating chains of coincidence, is thrust into the role of savior. Again. But, rather than run from his destiny, this time Rincewind's conscience gets the better of him (after quite a bit of prodding and ...
