With Windows Media Server it saves me money on dish and the flawed Hopper, joey junk. I use it with an outside antenna and have enough TV to record and watch skipping commercials, (the only reason I used Dish). Paid for itself in 2 months although I have fewer channels I didn't watch most of Dish channels anyway. Actually receives more channels than my Vizio Digital TV. The WinTV DVR software is not as good as Media Center. The software version 7 has a file to make the remote work with Media Center but version 8 is missing this file, just downloaded it and it works perfectly. Media Center looks just like ATT Uverse DVR platform. The Nevidia video card works okay but a nightmare to order full height bracket, you have to register online and jump through many hoops (they are data miners) ... Also works with TVheadend frontend running on ubuntu 16.04. I run a PLEX media server on a headless ubuntu 16.04 server fx-6300 @ 4.2GHz 16GB RAM 1x2TB + 1x3TB -storage drives 2x250GB RAID 1 -OS drive
