Product Information

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER - The fourth book in Diana Gabaldon's acclaimed Outlander saga, the basis for the Starz original series. "Unforgettable characters . . . richly embroidered with historical detail."-- The Cincinnati Post What if you knew someone you loved was going to die? What if you thought you could save them? How much would you risk to try? Claire Randall has gone to find Jamie Fraser, the man she loved more than life, and has left half her heart behind with their daughter, Brianna. Claire gave up Jamie to save Brianna, and now Bree has sent her mother back to the mysterious Scottish warrior who was willing to give his life to save them both. But a chilling discovery in the pages of history suggests that Jamie and Claire's story doesn't have a happy ending. Brianna dares a terrifying leap into the unknown in search of her mother and the father she has never met, risking her own future to try to change history . . . and to save their lives. Book was shipped timely and well packaged. My only constructive criticism is that this was not as shown in the listing. Which is important for book buyers wanting to match sets of books.

Do not miss Diana Gabaldon's Outlander books!

The book I received was in great condition. I love Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. You receive an excellent history lesson through the lives of these dynamic characters through this author's meticulous research of the time. The setting is 18th century Scotland and the struggle between Scotland and England; it continues into the New World (America) and the struggle for independence there. The characters are well developed with the central characters being Scottsman Jamie Fraser and Englishwoman Claire Randall (who happens to be a time traveler from the twentieth century.) I was hooked on their story from the first page. I am not usually a fan of sci-fi or fantasy, but this story is completely realistic (aside from how Claire came to be part of this adventure). This is a 9 book collection ...

  • Drums of Autumn

Have you ever sat on a hillside on the fourth of July when the world was just on the other side of dark waiting to see that first rockets red glare and hear bombs bursting in air? Ahhh, the anticipation of that glorious, wondrous phenomenon Americans call Independence Day and all the attending fireworks. That is the anticipation I always have before I open one of the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon. I came late into the Gabaldon clan of admirers, but better late than never. I am in the process of buying hard copies of the entire saga. The Drums of Autumn arrived on my doorstep. Joy exploded and sent my spirits flying higher than a a bottle rocket. I admit, I am an unabashed bibliophilic. Drums of Autumn is captivating all the way through its 880 pages. Others may look at that ...

This book and seven more are the colmination of a life work for Diana Galabdon. They are an amazing testament to her writing skills and her imagination. What a great story teller. I recommend any of her books to anyone who loves to read and enjoys a historical and fantasy based story. Enjoy. Shirley Domenichelli

  • Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon

I bought this book and the others in the series as I had read my paperback copies to the point of falling apart! This is a super historical fantasy series, well-researched and with authentic historical background, taking into account literary license of course! Any lover of this genre will find the Outlander series fascinating and absorbing. Caution: There are some fairly detailed love scenes, so not for those who prefer to imagine rather than read it.
