The only negative comment I have about this watch is the screen brightness. As you can see in my photo, even in my house with the lights on you can barely see the display. I just simply press the light button to see the time. The compass dial does not rotate but I knew it wouldn't based on the price. Overall a good watch. It fits nicely and I have worn it in the shower two times with no problems.

First of all, it is not stainless steel. It is black plastic, as is the band. A rubber band would be more comfortable. The face does not rotate, so having a compass rose on it is pointless. The readout is sufficiently large to read, but is not bright enough to view under indoor lighting. Outside is really difficult to read. The light is ok for nighttime use. the chronometer is fine, no splits. It resets to 00:00 after 59:59. For $13 it is not a bad buy.

This watch is perfect for daily use if you are worried about dinging up an expensive watch. Due to my work I refuse to wear any of my more expensive watches, this watch I wear with no worry about damaging it. Only word of caution is the display is lexan/plastic and scratches easily. This is a grea working man (or women's) watch!

Love the watch though I wish the instructions were printed larger since I have eyesight issues. I also wish it was easier to read each in average light without needing to use light button. These 2 items lowered my rating from a 5 star to 4 star review

At $150 less than the Suunto Core (give or take), this watch is a great value, unless you need a barometer, and a digital compass, and whatever else in the realm of techy goodness is packed into the Suunto. This watch is clearly meant to mimic the Core’s design and style. To address some things I’ve seen in other reviews: The display isn’t “bright” enough. This LCD (liquid crystal display) is kind of like a photo negative if you will. On more common watches there is a gray background, and the figures are displayed in black. With this watch the figures are the grey background and what is black obscures everything on the board except the shape of the figures. There is no light being emitted from the screen so how people are complaining about brightness, I’m not sure. It’s not a contrast problem either. The black can’t be any blacker and the gray is just the color of the LCD board. If you can’t read it, it’s due to the limitations of LCD technology, not a flaw in the watch itself. “The watch case is plastic.” 1. It costs $13 and some change. 2. Go price a Luminox. Most of them are “plastic”(polymer) too. One negative, and this is more of a caution than a complaint, due to the price point. What would be called the crystal on higher end watches is a VERY SOFT plastic and scratches if you breath on it. I used a damp soft cotton cloth to clean it after taking it out of the package and it but tiny swirl marks on the plastic. It still looks fine and you have to really look to see them. Fortunately the bezel is pretty high and will protect the plastic from most brushes with abrasive materials. When it starts looking like trash, by a new one. I also read complaints about the instructions, so I didn’t even look at them. Within three minutes of randomly pressing buttons, I figured out how to set the day, time, date, turn off the alarm, and turn on the hourly chime feature. If you like the Core and you like spending $14 instead of $150. Get this watch.Read full review
