Loved it so much I bought a 2nd copy and sent it to a friend.
What an amazing recording. My first introduction to Johnny A. and still my favorite. I love the sort-of rockabilly feel to many of the songs, each one spirited and unique with a level of musicianship that would be envied by any rock'n'roll or jazz trio. This is a CD that you can listen to once or twice and come away humming the tunes, which works just fine since there are no vocals whatsoever. Two other tracks stand out for another reason; and they are two beautiful covers of the old vocal classics; "Wichita Lineman" (Jimmy Webb's song originally sung by Glen Campbell) and The Beatles' mournful "Yes it Is". A perfect album by a talented professional guitar player
A musician friend recommended Johnny A to me several times. My friend kept saying it was perfect guitar playing. I thought that sounded unlikely. So, I bought this CD on half.ebay.com and gave it a listen... My friend was right. If there is perfect guitar playing, this is it. It's really pleasant music, all smoothly, professionally, affectionately, and perfectly played.
