The CD that got me hooked on GC
I've heard it hundreds of times, but this album still makes me enjoy Good Charlotte's sound. THIS should have been their debut cd, but I'm glad they got all the kinks out on the previous cd. This is much more mature and deals with subject matter that wasn't present before. "My Bloody Valentine" is about a boy who kills a girl's boyfriend because she won't be with him. "Hold On" speaks to those listeners contemplating suicide. "The Anthem" and "The Young and the Hopeless", the two singles that made GC known, are fun and sound great! Classic Pop punk but a little whiney
A Classic Pop Punk Album! Must have if your a fan of Green Day, The Used, My Chemical Romance, etc. Lyrics are great a very relatable but come off as a bit whiney especially when he talks about his dad leaving him for the third time. BEST SONGS are The title track, "The Anthem", "Movin' On", "Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous" "Hold On" and "Girls & Boys" You will find yourself listening to the whole thing without skipping any songs.A Classic Pop Punk Album! To truely understand what's wrong with this album you would have to step back and take some punk rock history lessons. I know you all don't like history but I promise you'll thank me someday (now I sound like your dad...sigh). Once you have a well rounded sense of history you can tell me if I'm wrong or not in saying that this CD falls short. If you still think it's all that, well, that's cool. Knock yourself out.
