Not a big fan of the sequel, but the original movie is awesome.

  • Dragonheart

I would certainly love to give a higher rating for this product, but the second movie, 'Dragonheart 2', is not a very good sequel, in my opinion. Given more ideal circumstances, I would never have bought it as a separate DVD. Sure, it has humor, action, and an interesting storyline... I don't fault it for that. The truth is, the animation is nothing like the first movie, and is painfully evident. It is very hard for a sequel to live up to it's predecessor, and unfortunately, 'Dragonheart 2' does not. Originally, I had intended to purchase the original DVD of 'Dragonheart', but sellers had priced the darned thing much higher than this DVD. So, being the practical buyer that I am, I had to settle for a better priced alternative, at the cost of having a lesser film piggybacked to a ...

  • Two tales about dragons, trust, betrayal and redemtion.

I remember seeing this movie in theaters and loved it. I was browsing eBay for it and saw the part 1 and 2 so I had to just get it. The original movie is great and is more than most movies with dragons that is just slay the "evil" dragon. A dragon gives half his heart to a dying kings son who he believes will not be corrupt like his father. That boy grows up to be a corrupt king. Sean Connery is amazing as Draco's voice in this touching tale about a dragon gift, a knight who once believed in a old code of honor, and a corrupt king. Now the second movie is not as good and in my opinion. It is after the first movie and a egg was found. This dragon was being keep secret against a event that may happen if he is found out about that could result in a horrible event. It does have it moments ...

  • Sweet movie! Glad I was able to find a copy!

The first of the two Dragonheart movies is sheer awesome. The soundtrack is used all over the place, but it's rarely credited to Dragonheart. The second is pretty cool too, though not nearly to the extent of the first. At such a low price though (I basically only paid for shipping) how can you go wrong? Kids love fantasy. When I finally start a family of my own, my kids with grow up with movies like Dragonheart. Not from the youngest ages, but it's family-friendly enough that they can be introduced to a loveable character like Draco without graphic violence like in Braveheart, etc. The action's all there without the unnecessary gore and graphic qualities that would make it inappropriate for younger ages. Dragonheart all the way!

  • Endearing tales...

Dragon Heart 1, I remembered.. a fine tale of moral and honor mixed with mis-adventure, desparate times, and a mutual alliance between a dragon and a knight of honor. I didn't expect Dragon Heart II.. came as a bonus film. Dragon Heart II is more aimed at the younger generation, a touch more light hearted..with a cute young dragon. Nice show for the kids, methinks.
