Incredibly beautiful, smartly designed, but a bit fragile.
Maybe don't give this one to a little kid. To get a robot out of such a sleek, low vehicle, there's some very thin panels. And the back bumper pieces can pop off frequently. That said, this is a mini-Masterpiece to look at. Incredible sculpting. Sharp paint. good, accurate face sculpt. And not only is the Lamborghini Centenario mode stunning, it's really satisfying, once you complete the somewhat-scary transformation, to have everything fit into place just right. This toy is even better if you have/had Age Of Extrinction Deluxe Lockdown. Hot Rod shares 90% of the transformation, and a few of the same parts. But they improved him So Much. Taller, better proportioned, slimmer backpack. Best of all, they got rid of Lockdown's awful 'lunchtray' arms. Instead, Hot Rod has a lovely simple little door-flip that not only looks more like arms, but also puts the wheels on the elbows like the character has in the movie. Brilliant!Read full review

For Fans/Collectors of Hot Rod ONLY!!
The Walmart exclusive only 2 Step Hot Rod is a retool/repaint of the Transformers Age of Extinction "Flip & Change" Lockdown. While the transformation is fun it relies on springs and cogs along with the right amount of force to actually convert it. As a result the " 2 Step" feature makes the toy quite delicate and prone to damage after only a few transformations. I know because I own the original Lockdown version. The ONLY reason I purchased the Hot Rod version from Walmart is because he is my favorite character in the Transformers universe. As soon as I received it he went into my collection without leaving the package. There is NOWAY I would pay more than Walmart's $19.99 for myself or my kids. Instead I recommend picking up the "Legion Class" Hot Rod toy ($5.90 + shipping currently on Walmart's site). Sure it's considerably smaller BUT your kid will actually be able to enjoy it for A LOT longer.Read full review

A Great 2017 Walmart Exclusive!
The figure is worth the money ive spent! its very awesome and very good from its popularity and i recommend finding or buying him for any Hot Rod fan or any fans of the movies and the toys. All i need is the voyager Optimus Prime from The Last Knight(the one that was also in the same wave with voyager Grimlock) and get the Dr.Wu sword and shield upgrades to pose with my studio series 54 Megatron
