The mic works as it should on my Galaxy DX 88HL. However, if I run power with a linear, the Mic squeals. I put a new battery in to see if that would stop the squeal. It didn’t. I have an older Astatic D104M6B made in the early 90s and it doesn’t squeal when I run power. I don’t know if it’s because this one is made in China or what’s the difference. I do like the way these Mics sound. Use your judgement & be aware of my results. They may work fine on your 4 pin radio. Who knows.

    Clean switch

Get a can of electrical contact cleaner and spray out the switch, then it will work good for you, 3 on the adjustment knob is loud.. sucks to have to take something out of the package and work on it but it is what it is... great feedback from my locals after cleaning

  • Top critical review

No audio out, had to Jerry rig.

The "talk power" is great. Size and length of cord is very good. The volume control does not get in the way of operation. What I didn't like was after installing the 9vdc battery, it would not talk. Key is ok, but thickness of the standard battery would flex the circuit bd and no audio would come out. Currently running with the cover loose and the space filled with tape. Maybe the Chinese use smaller 9vdc batteries?

  • Avoid this model microphone until they fix it.

Both of my microphones fail within hours or a few days of use, even when not plugged into the radio. The microphone draws excessive current from the battery, even when not in use (as tested by a professional technician). Unless you want to replace the battery everyday, forget it. These are junk, but sound good while the battery is fresh. Maybe a defective bach, but that's what I got. The "Red Devil" version does not seem to have this problem.

  • As good as it gets

It a decent mic. Updated: The international key switch went bad after 1 week of use. Had to buy a new switch and have it put in. Not the seller's fault just bad manufacturing by the maker it a god mic once the key switch is fixed.

  • D104-M6B

Hands down the best power mic.If you want that punch to be heard in a crowd the high's win out. Hence the sound of a code key. Cut off the talkback and lean on the Astatic D104-M6B Oh, and don't forget the copper top brand battery
