I bought this set several months ago for a great price. You definitely get your money's worth if you remember you're not spending a lot for this much truss with shipping included. That being said, it is inexpensively made and mine was missing a few fasteners, required some fiddling and later on required repairs. One of my stands had some misalignment in the hoist cabling and the pulley failed. I salvaged a metal pulley out of a buy from home depot and replaced the hoist cable with 1 gauge thicker and the stand performed way better. The truss portions will sag under weight. I suggest fabricating metal dowels for the connection points from emt metal conduit to fit into the hollow tubes if you are going to use this under load or use it regularly. If you're handy, you can save some ... I bought this set several months ago for a great price. NOT PRO QUALITY, BUT HEY IT WORKS FAIRLY**
As a semi-pro sounds and light engineer, my guy and I had a bit difficulty with the second stand when I first set it up. It was very hard to crane it up until they are in the right track which you are not able to tell. Also it is hard to pull it back down since the crane won't do the job. You have to gently help pulling it down... Anyway, I still give it a 4-star since you can't complaint with the price since it is so affordable. Just be careful with China's quality as you know! I bought a second set a year later recently since I might want to use 4 trusses (instead of 3) sometimes with some support at the middle, I guess --while you can use the 2 extra stands as speaker stands... Could be better, could be worse.
For the money it's not a bad system but you get what you pay for. The flange plates are flimsy and easily bend causing a bowed situation. Much better for long term installation than the rigors of gigging. Found conduit hangers to be much more effective than the fixture hangers that we included. There are other systems out there that cost more and if you're going to plan for long term usage they may be a better alternative but this system, with some extra care, and some reinforcement, will do the job. Packaging could use a serious update as there was numerous dents and dings to the tubing, minor, but could have been avoided with better packaging. QC could use some improvements as there was missing hardware and some of the welds were suspect . Nothing ventured, nothing gained but an ... BAD PRODUCT
Flimsy, unstable when cranked to full height, standard fixture hangars will not work on the truss bars. Not worth the price. Welds are of poor quality and not straight, you have to put it together multiple times to even get the truss bars even somewhat lined up. Save your money, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! YOU WILL NOT BE HAPPY WITH IT.
