Great for what I needed! LOVE this watch!
I have used my Garmin vivoactive for about a week now. I am still learning it, but loving a lot of its features. However it is limited in somethings. Set up was easy and down loading the app. I was excited to use it for tracking my cycling. It has been great for this!!! My friends love it so much I will send snapshots of it to them after our workouts. However, you can not view or review detailed information with the watch. The app is where you view it, so just be aware. It was great at tracking. Did run into some problems with recording elevation during a hill training ride. A friend with a more advanced Garmin had a different elevation that was a little over 1000 ft difference (big difference). so, just be aware that this is kind of a basic model. The running I have not had a chance to use yet, but the walking I have and it has been great to say the pace, cal., time etc. During the reviewing of your workouts it will also give you a map of what you did and on a computer you can create routes and send them to your phone. You can customize what categories you view in the app and the order you view them. Other workouts or fitness activities can be harder to track because this model is basic, but you can log a manual workout which is nice and can just label it as other. The other things the watch can do is swimmimg, golf, indoor treadmill running or walking and indoor cycling. You will need other components for the indoor cycling and treadmill i believe. You can also attach a heartrate srap if you would like to calculate HR. It is great at connecting with other friends that have garmins. It allows you to challenge a friend as well in a certain activity in a day, week, month, etc. IT ALSO TRACKS SLEEP!!!! I did not care about this as much at first, but i started to set it before bed and stop it when I woke up and was realizing how little sleep i was getting in my training! Also, the app fitness pal you can download and it will track all your eatting, cal in and out woth the gamin app when you connect the. You can also live track and send the link to frie ds to track you during an event! I tested this doing somewalking to try it out and it was pretty neat. Using it at my next big event for my friends to follow me. They are excited they can actually see me on the map......the watch is water proof, great design and is comfortable. I was afraid it would be to bulky at first, but have adjusted well. You get all messages, phone calls, emails and what other notifications you want sent to it or you can turn them all off in the app if you rather. Over all I LOVE the watch! It does exactly what I need and even more with the golf app. I would recommend this watch to anyone getting g into more training events or wanting to become more active, but know that it is a basic watch. If you want something more advanced I would recommend upgrading to a more advanced model, but this watch was perfect for me and I am excited to start using the other things it offers. Maybe, unlucky?
I received my watch today that I purchased for my husband's birthday. We put it on the charger knowing most things need to be charged before they turn on. OK, that's fine until it was connected, registered and fully charged we ran into a HUGE problem! It didn't stay on or connected after removing it from the charger. I made a call to Garmin themselves to see what could be wrong, a battery, a sort or something fixable? Nope, it was defective and needed to be replaced (not fixable is what they said)! Luckily the lady worked with me and I'm having a brand new one sent to me and it will come with a warranty! I'm either the most unlucky person or I just learned a very valuable lesson! Either way, I'll never purchase refurbished on eBay again!

I have had a series of fitbit products that have disappointed me with regard to there durability. Too soon to tell with this product but it functions very well and I like the large screen for the time and date. It also rarely changes windows with normal body motions are real problem with other solutions. The functions seem to be working appropriately, it pairs very nicely with my Iphone warning me of phone calls and texts with no noise or having to have the phone in a pocket. Lets see how it stands up over time. All of my fitbits self destructed after a very few months.

I love this thing
I have had several different fitness watches and this is definitely my favorite. I was a little concerned about the comfort due to the square design and having small wrists however it is super comfortable. I use it cycling a lot and I love the GPS feature. It has been accurate in the city as well as way back in the country. The Garmin Connect app is also the best app I have used for fitness tracking. This watch and app combo become pretty addictive when it comes to fitness. I have not used the golf feature yet, but as good as the rest of it is, I am pretty excited about getting out on the course.

A nice watch. Great to have connectivity to texts, weather, and GPS for exercising. Have to be close to phone to keep Bluetooth connected... 50 feet max I’d say. GPS works without phone so that is the main purpose for me. Keeps track of sleep activity which is a nice feature as well.
