This stator coil was a no go in my 82 ATC185S, it’s not an exact fit direct replacement either so I had to modify the bracket/housing for enough clearance to get this new one to bolt on. Had to grind material out of the bracket as well where the primary coil terminal is so it wouldn’t touch and short out and I could solder a wire onto it. It ohms out good but I’m getting pretty zero spark out of this stator. It is getting good ground and all the wiring is new? I see other ppl had success though

Replacement stator coil works fine with a little modification for the Honda ATC200ES.
The stator coil works perfectly but mounting it was tricky for the Honda ATC200ES. The original part had the hot wire connection on one side (when mounted correctly) whereas the replacement had the hot wire connection in the middle. The wire for that connection would have to be extended. Also the tab on the stator for that connection was too high making that connection touch the back of the altenator housing. Mounting the stator up-side-down allowed for no wire extension if the connection tab was bent 90 degrees. Also the ground tab had to be ground down slightly so the stator coil would be level when mounted. Complete Garbage
Very poor quality! Small eng. mechanic for 30 years, so it was NOT installed improperly. Had to return the first two, one of those had it's leads folded over to the windings, and they then molded them into the epoxy protective wrap on the windings. I tried to dig them out due to desperation, but they were so deep it would have destroyed the windings before you could retrieve them. The one that looked good (3rd one) only produced 25v, (needs to be around 80v) and wouldn't fire the the coil. ABSOLUTE JUNK!!Very poor quality! I like it, but the design isn't what I expected
I had to modify the stater in order for the part to fit. Would recommend a more expensive one if you are going to get one. The part still works fine for me with no problems so far considering it's from china.
