A friend asked me to replace a broken graphite shaft on his driver. He dropped his bag and snapped the shaft. I had about a foot of shaft to pull out of the head. I have done replacements before and it involved cutting, drilling and drameling to get the shaft out. I looked into a shaft remover but it was to costly for as little as I would use it. I saw this shaft remover on eBay and figured I would give it a shot. If it didn’t work, I didn’t invest much. To my surprise, I followed the instructions, looked at the instruction pictures and pulled that shaft clean in 10 minutes. This gadget works and works well.

It is difficult to load/unload the spring - nothing to grab hold of. A carbon shaft can be removed easier with just waiting until the glue has softened and just gently twisting left and right the club head pulling as you go. I was unable to extract steel shaft from an iron as even with 30 minutes of heating the extractor just did not work ! Looks like for a good job, professional tools are required (or go to a club repairer as costs are too high for quality tools for occasional use).

This is a piece of junk it's instructions all but tell you it's not going to work very well and the items that come with it are garage quality at best. I tried to follow the instructions and destroyed the finish on a $300 Taylormade Superfast which cost me dearly because it wasn't mine I was fixing it for a customer and had no choice but replace it.

It is a simple idea that WORKS! It takes a little adjusting of club to get just right but once you have done it a time or two it is pretty amazing and it costs much less. The great thing is it leaves both hands free to hold heat gun and catch club head as it releases! Kudos to the inventor!

If you have a little bit of handy man ability and follow the instructions, it works well. I pulled 2 driver shafts in 45 minutes. I used a torch.
